Okay
Great product thanks!!
There are many types of basil that grow and I was curious as to what type of basil this would smell like. I do not get the sense that this is sweet basil or any of the flavored basils (lemon, etc.). It reminds me of darker basil plants (purple basil/red basil) that are a bit more bitter. There is not a strong anise flavor, which some sweet basils can have. Its not bad, but its not sweet either, imo. It has a slightly medicinal scent to me. It might work in a diffuser if you are looking for something that isnt too flowery or effeminate. At 9 dollars a bottle (at the time of this review) this is a good deal for the amount you get.
The bottle says to apply topically only. There are many uses for basil oil - some with some form of research behind them. Worth looking into.
I like the calming scent.
I enjoy diffusing essential oils and creating my own roller blends but I keep coming across recipes calling for basil oil so I ordered this to augment my ever growing collection of oils. This oil comes in a nice amber glass bottle and includes an equally nice glass dropper. The oil appears to be clean, and has a bit of a sweet herbal aroma. It comes from India and claims to be 100% pure basil essential oil. Unlike some other basil oils, this oil is not food grade. It is for external use only and should be diluted with a carrier oil. I personally prefer fractionated coconut oil for that purpose. The expiration date on my bottle is two years out. If you are interested in using basil essential oil, Pinterest is a great source for roller and diffuser recipes. This particular oil seems fine to me, but obviously, as with other oils, I can't vouch for purity. That said, I am comfortable using this in both diffuser and roller blends and will discontinue use should I note any adverse reactions.
